Daily Training Diary

After a full session in kiba dachi last night's Tekki session my knees were still complaining tonight. To give them a rest I only did Tekki Nidan a few times then moved on to Enpi.

Enpi is in my list a "know" katas were I can get from the start to the finish, but please don't look too closely at the individual techniques. It was a good kata to practice tonight because it didn't require much mental thought and isn't a particularly exhausting kata. This was a good choice because I fell asleep for 3 hours after work, so I was heading to the studio with no food in me and therefore no energy.

So it was no surprise that I ran out of steam after 25 minutes and decided to focus on embusen and count. Turns out that Enpi is actually a great kata for finishing exactly were you start, although this does rely on a good jump at the end. The 37 count is pretty obvious so there's no challenge there.

In the end, I had done a little cementing of Tekki Sandan and completed a refresh of Enpi, so all good.

I really need to get back to a decent sleep pattern though because lack of sleep is affecting my training massively.
